We enjoyed the small, very casual feel of the place. The iced tea (sweet and unsweet) was fresh and delicious, but the food was only slightly above mediocre in flavor and presentation. Our lunch for three (1 Fish Po' Boy with stale (handmade?) chips and stale bun, 1 side of fried okra, 2 orders of crawfish etouffee, 2 sides of boudin balls, 3 teas) cost $63+ and didn't seem a good value for what we got. Service was lackluster and disinterested. The women's bathroom was clean. The menus and table and hot sauce bottle were all sticky. The sauce bottle was gross enough that I felt compelled to take a photo. It wasn't a terrible experience, but I doubt we'll be back.

Was once very impressed with the food and atmosphere...over the last couple of years I have been more aggrevated and less impressed... the consistency of the jambalaya <probably one of my favorite dishes for any meal > is far from that.. I am at this moment chocking down the most greasey dirty rice with grilled chicken and sausage on top with 2 shrimp... this is a side order...ordered it spicy.... my wife ordered a side of dirty rice not spicy....the only difference between her dirty rice and my jambalaya was the couple pieces of chicken and 2 shrimp thrown on top... mine was not spicy hot...the last several times we have ordered take out for dinner the jambalaya was better not much better: although the large order had 2 shrimp.. and wasn't much more, size wise, than the side I ordered tonight.<which had 2 shrimp>. The owners are very hospitable when we have dined in...it is only a few blocks from my house and unfortunately the only "cajun" claiming vendor our town has to offer besides that horrible place by the mall... gtfoh..the roast beef po boy is amazing and should have been what I ordered this evening but I shook the dice once again on receiving that good ol jambalaya from years past... just ain't the same. Don't be afraid to try other menu items because of this review. The gumbo is excellent and consistent. When they have fried gator tail the breading and seasoning is on point... it's along drive to Louisiana for some jambalaya and I have thought many times of granting this town another option for Southern and Cajun food....but I digress.. Longing for the good ol days and not feeling like I got ripped off.. take your chances at the jambalaya if you wish... hope it's right what your looking for.. tonight and the last several times it has been disappointing more than nostalgic or comforting..Raised the price and dropped the quality and consistency...please let us know when the good batches are back..

It's authentic as you can get this far north. I used to live in Louisiana and this is about as close as you can get to authentic food. The restaurant was clean, the service was incredibly fast, and the food was great. We will likely be back again and again.

Good food. Decent prices. Waitress was awesome! My only complaint would be, I would have liked a bit more shrimp with my meal. Other than that, thanks for a good experience.

Really great first experience. Stopped for lunch. Had a decent Catfish po boy with chips as well as the beignets! Will be back to try more

1st in the area decent Cajun style dining. We've been eating here since they opened at their first location. The Shrimp Ettoufee, po'boys, catfish are delicious and the Fri/Sat strip boil is amazing.

Taste of the south. The chips are fantastic. The slaw is delicious, milky and crispy. Spicy juicy sausage. Baked bread. Good prices. Definitely a stop when driving through Springfield. Thank you Big Easy

Very good food! The fried green tomato appetizer was fantastic! We also ordered a Cajun style pasta $14.99 and the seafood gumbo $8.99 with crawfish (+$2) The crawfish meat tasted very good and felt fresh. No complaints at all but also nothing to right home about. I would definitely go back if someone suggested it but might not seek the food out on my own.
